Hello Crafters,

I am so excited this is the week a few of us girls get together to share what we have learned, taught, experienced over the past year. This is a fun time, four days of crafting, eating, shopping, eating, laughing, eating. Guess by now you are getting the picture. We all bring our favorite foods and share.
Well best get to posting still have to pack.  This week Joan is having a Challenge: of using a vintage picture or stamp, mix colors of ink together, use a stencil and something that can be purchased at: myjoansgardens
I decided on doing something different as I have be wanting to do something on a canvas for a long time and decided on this:

I got out a canvas and covered with white gesso, let it dry and started spritzing different spray inks -must have played for a couple of hours putting color on taking color off and finally decided on the hue on the canvas. they were all the same color and I wanted to use the stencil but not the usual paste so I put a stencil in the upper left hand corner and started removing the ink, (small paint brush and water). I did the same across the bottom with a stencil I made from a die cut I made with the French collection border.
Wanted something is the other three corners so I had cut a die cut from the poppy stamps die Crochet corner (2 times)for bottom corners and upper right was a corner die from French Collection.  I did  the same system removing color with water. The top right looks marmbled and the bottom two pretty close to the same color. I added the fussy cut flowers from the HFC paper and added some gold  tulle to two of the corners.  The background paper is from HFC Floral key collection, and the Vintage lady is cut from the Graphic 45 A Ladies Diary. I used TH  vintage photo distress ink. Distressed the edges of both pieces for aging.  I added lace at the bottom of the picture ( I only had the lace I wanted to use in pink so I used Adirondack metallic paint Copper & gold mixed  together and painted the lace to match the colors of the canvas.I added some jewel bling to tulle, and areas on open canvas. The feathers on her hat, and her fan are real feathers from a pheasant.  TH - Lock and Key for the gate and a bit of glitter on the flowers. A few white brush strokes for highlight, and a beautiful Butterfly from Cheery Lynn and done. So this is it and my best critics(grandsons) liked it so I posted.
This is a close up so you can see the left hand corner and the stenciling.
and another close up of the stencil at the top.

Ye Ole Owl

Hello Crafters,

Tree hugging is a great pass time in the fall, not literally but watching the colors change, seeing animals that are so hard to see with all the leaves on, squirrels gathering for the Winter. Fall is my favorite time of the year so I created this card  for the Challenge over at:
The Challenge is : Make a fall theme using precut/altered items you have used before, embossed background and product you can purchase at

Background base is a sheet from HFC Timeless Amore. I used a Sizzix stencil to create the leaves using embossing paste and color with TH distress markers, a small bit of Flower Soft was sprinkled over them.
The beautiful owl was cut from  a piece of shinny card stock that had been colored with Alcohol inks using  a verity of colors. I worked with this piece of card stock until when it was dry it felt and acted like leather.
I embossed a piece of cream card stock and layered the Creative Expressions Austrian die collection over it.
The layers were popped  up. Sentiment was from HFC and flowers are from the Flower Soft. Ribbon is from stash.

Products Used:
Heartfelt Creations - Timeless Amore Collection
Creative Expressions - Austrian Collection Salzburg CED2203
Dream Weavers - Embossing paste
Sizzix - Stencil Oak Leaf
Tattered Lace - Owl D132

Autumn Wreath

Hello Crafters,

I wanted to make a couple of Autumn/Fall cards to send to a couple of my family so I also thought I would put them in the Challenge over at:
The Challenge is to create a Fall theme using materials altered that have been cut before or already used,
an embossed back ground and product that can be purchased at:

This is what I did.

I think I should have darkened my hue and believe me the middle strip of card stock is GREEN, not blue.
So much better in real time....
Base card is craft card stock, next layer is a sheet of paper from the Timeless Amore collection HFC which I embossed with Anna Griffin embossing folder "Acanthus" then distressed edges with vintage photo Ranger, and distressed the embossing with sand paper. Center piece is a left over piece of green card stock that I embossed with Anna Griffin "Climbing Grace" embossing folder and distressed it in the same manner and added a bit of yellow and orange alcohol ink.
The small oak and maple leaves were punched from my creative memories punch years ago, they have held up good, I spritzed them with Perfect Pearls Pearl mist.
Sentiment was versa mark using Wow embossing powders, from Just Rite Autumn Labels twenty-two.
I used the Joy sunflower strip and filled them with gala glitz copper beads. Acorn caps were filled with Elements -Pecan 10 and real acorns from my yard.
The sun flowers were cut from a piece of shinny card stock that I had practiced with using  Alcohol  inks.
Leaves were stamped with a darker green than the paper. Fall leave ribbon from stash.

Hello Crafters,

Where does the time go?  I have been making cards and then don't have the time to post them, what is up with that. I did see the Joan had made a beautiful card and turned it into a fun challenge over at:, so I decided to give it a whirl.

Will I see my shadows show up real well -will my photography never get better?

I started with green card stock embossed it with dots EF, then distressed by sanding. I thought they were to white so I added vintage photo to them. Added a piece of card stock from HFC Daphne Collection which I distress as well and when I wet it the corners at the top curled down. I liked it.
I cut a oval die cut from the Austrian Collection from Creative Expressions aged the edges added a sentiment that was stamped with Memento rich cocoa from HFC Sun flower stem stamps then clear embossed. I added the remaining embellishments - Feathers, seeds, lace, roses . hat pin.
